Location Tjörn: Arriving at Nordic Water colour museum

LOCATION TJÖRN: During five intense days in October 2010, 37 design students explored the techniques of watercolour in a hands-on workshop at the Nordic Watercolour museum located on Tjörn in Sweden. The theme of the workshop is Tjörn as a location and the students were free to explore the medium of watercolour as a future tool for their work in design. The students joining the workshop are all enrolled in a design programme at a Nordic design university that is a member of the Cirrus Network. The workshop is partly funded by a donation from Cirrus Network. Three studios were created, led by Eva Dahlin – Swedish artist and junior lecturer in Visual arts at HDK Petri Hytönen- Finish artist Martin Farran-Lee- Swedish graphic designer and visiting professor at HDK The students were also supported by the pedagogical group working for the museum. The result of the exhibition will be exhibited at the Nordic Watercolour museum during the 22nd of October – 7th of November 2010.
